Activity 8 (a)

Write a short story in about eight words using the following hints. Give a suitable title to the story:

a farmer finds a snake almost dead with cold – brings it home – warms it – saves its life – the snake is about to bite the farmer’s son – the farmer chases away the snake

An Ungrateful Snake

One day while coming back from the field, a farmer found a snake almost dead in cold. Feeling pity, he brought the snake home, warmed it beside fire, gave it milk and thus saved its life. Some days after while playing in the cottage, the farmer’s son came close to the snake and the snake was about to bite him. Seeing that, he became angry and rushed there and chased it away.

Moral: Gratitude cannot be expected from the wicked.

Activity 8 (b)

Suppose you have a bird that talks and plays with you. Write a paragraph in about eight words on how you spent a day with the bird during your summer vacation.

A Day with Kitty

I was very happy during this summer vacation because my father surprised me by giving a parrot and the most interesting thing is that it can talk. I named it Kitty. Kitty and I spent maximum time together. I gave him a bath and fed him well. In the afternoon, I went to the local park with Kitty. My friends also become surprised when they saw Kitty talked to them like a human being. They asked him questions to test Kitty’s intelligence and Kitty successfully answered them because he already knew some interesting words like ‘thanks’, ‘welcome’, ‘good bye’, ‘ok’. Kitty also entertained us by imitating our words. At night, he slept me by singing a song and saying ‘good night’.
