Activity 10 (a)

Write an imaginary dialogue in about eighty words between two birds in winter, one of whom is flying away to a warm country and the other who is stuck in a cold land.

Swallow : Hello, brother sparrow, farewell to you. Meet you again in spring.

Sparrow : What for are you going to a far away unknown country?  We are much better here though in cold.

Swallow: That's a real adventure. Again we will be able to avoid cold.

Sparrow: I can't admit your logic. This is our home land. Hoe happy we are here!

Swallow : But the present cold is really intolerable!

Sparrow: Whatever may be we are not going with you.

Swallow : Ok, then let me go. I am late enough.

Sparrow: Then good bye. Wish you a happy journey.

Swallow : Thank you a lot.

Activity 10 (b)

Recently you gave up your seat in a crowded bus to an old, ailing person. Write a letter in about eighty words to your friend describing how you felt after having helped the person.

                                                                                                                                       Aurangabad,

                                                                                                                                      Murshidabad

Dear Bappa,

Hope all of you are well. Yesterday I felt a kind of satisfaction which I never felt before and I am going to share my experience with you.

While returning from my tuition, I boarded a crowded bus and somehow managed to get a seat. After some time, an old man, almost bent with age and looking quite ill, boarded the bus. He was constantly tripping. The other passengers, instead of offering him a seat were showing disgust towards him. I could not help but stood up and gave my seat. Believe me, I instantly felt a strange satisfaction within, when the man blessed me. My heart glowed/leapt up with boundless joy.

No more today. Take care of yourself and help others.

                                                                                                                                         Yours ever,

                                                                                                                                             Baban
