An Autobiography of a Broken Bicycle
‘Tring Tring’ - this
is, my way of saying 'hello" to my friends but alas! I do not sound
pleasant any more. Some of my broken parts make me realise that I have grown
old. But when I was a brand new bicycle, I was gifted to Rohit on his fifteenth
birthday. How well he took care of me! Time would pass easily when he took me
to school and tuitions. But happiness doesn't last long. Slowly with the
passing of years I was replaced by a motorbike. I got a new shelter - from the
house to the old garage. Dust covered me, nobody took care of me. I stand here
all day long waiting for some other Rohit who might mend me - but alas! No one
comes.
Activity 10 (b)
Suppose recently you had to change your place of
residence. Write a page in your diary about the experience of shifting from a
familiar neighbourhood to a new place.
Diary Writing About Shifting to a
New Place

Monday
I don't know how to
begin. Feeling a bit depressed today. After all these shifting and packing and
now unpacking. What a headache! The previous locality was very homely. It had
become familiar - friends, neighbours, the grocery shop etc. Now I miss them.
This new place is not bad but it lacks the homely environment. People are so
busy that they hardly have time to say hello to each other. The shifting has
taken a toll on my health also. I am very tired now. So, good night for the
day. More updates tomorrow.
