Activity 10 (a)
Two Friends and a Bear
One day two bosom friends were passing through a forest. They were talking about their long-lasting friendship. Suddenly they saw a bear coming out of a bush. Both of them were really frightened. One climbed up a tree quickly but the other did knot know how to climb. He felt helpless. Suddenly, he had an idea. He lay down like a dead man. He knew that bears do not touch dead men. The bear came near him, sniffed him hard and went away thinking him as a dead man. After the departure of the bear, the first friend came down from the tree and asked, “What did the bear tell you, friend?” The other friend smiled and answered, “Beware of friends who run away leaving you in danger?”
Moral: A friend in need is a friend
indeed.

Suppose you have been waiting for a piece of good
news. Write a paragraph in about eighty words on your experience of waiting:
the news you waited for
- what you did while waiting - whether the news had come-your feelings.
A Day's Wait / A Rewarding Wait
Once I had been
waiting for the news of the result of my annual examination. I was tensed if I
could fare well. On that day I could not go to school. My mother went to
receive my result. All the time I was restless. When at last my mother returned
home and gave me the good news that I topped the class/list. Tears of boundless
joy came flooding my eyes. My mother hugged me and blessed me to grow better.
With due reverence/respect I bowed down on her feet and thanked God.
