Activity - 10 (a)
Write a short story in about sixty words using the
hints given below. Add a title to it:
You went on a
tour with your friends --- stayed the night in a house inside a forest --- slept
in separate rooms --- when you woke up your friends were all gone --- your
feelings --- how you returned home.
A Strange Experience of a Night
Once I with my friends
went on a tour to a dense forest. All day long we enjoyed the beauty of the
forest. Slowly the evening came. We saw a forest bungalow. So we decided to
stay there that night. We were given separate rooms to sleep in. Being tired I
soon fell a sleep. But after sometime some strange noises woke me up. Being
scared I ran into the next room. But they were not there. I prayed for the dawn.
As soon as I saw the light, I left the bungalow. Asking the way of the bus stop
to the local people, I reached there and returned home safely at noon.
Activity - 10 (b)
Imagine that you have a very lazy brother who is
always late in getting up from sleep. Write an imaginary conversation between
you and your brother on the usefulness of early rising.
My brother : Good Morning!
I : Yes, very good morning. But why are
you in such a hurry?
My brother : I am already very late
for my school.
I : But why are you so late?
My brother : Actually I can’t rise
early from bed.
I : I am very upset to hear such from
you. It is a bad habit. It spoils your precious time. You should not be lazy.
My Brother : I try to get up early
but I can’t.
I : Try again and again until it is
rectified. Always remember “Early to bed and early to rise makes a man healthy,
wealthy and wise.”
My Brother : Ok, dada, I promise
you to rise early from tomorrow.
I : Ok, now safely go to school.
