An Old Farmer and His Lazy Sons

Once there lived an old farmer in a certain village. The farmer was very anxious for his three sons as they were lazy. One day an idea occurred to his mind. He called his sons and told them that he had hidden vast treasure in their field. He asked them to dig up the treasure. Immediately, they started digging the field but found nothing. Then the old farmer advised them to sow seeds there. They did so and after some months they saw a rich harvest. The sons understood the value of hard work.

Activity - 8 (b)
Write a short paragraph in about sixty words describing your favourite season. Use the following hints:
Name of the season – flowers and fruits – vegetables – festivals – why you enjoy it.

My Favourite Season

There are six seasons in Bengal. Of them I like ‘Spring’ most. Spring is rightly called the ‘king of seasons’. The season lasts for two months namely Phalgun and Chaitra. After the biting cold of winter people got some relief. The sky remains cloudless. Mild breeze begins to blow. Nature decorates herself with new leaves and flowers. Various vegetables and fruits are also produced in this season. ‘Holi’ is the main festival of this season. For all these reasons, I  enjoy this season most.
