Ans: The Beast demanded that either the merchant or his youngest daughter would have to come to the Beast’s castle to live there with him.

Ans: The Beast decided to kill the merchant because he plucked a precious rose from the Beast’s garden without his permission.

 

(2) How did the Beast look after Belle in his castle?
Ans: The Beast looked after Belle providing her with lavish clothing and food. There Belle lived in luxury like a queen.

 

(3) Why did Belle fail to find the prince of her dreams in the castle? 
Ans: Belle failed to find the prince of her dreams in the castle because the prince was the Beast itself.

 

(4) What were the two things Belle carried to her father’s house? Why did she take them? 
Ans: Belle carried an enchanted mirror and a ring to her father’s house. She took them because the mirror would allow her to see what was going on back at the Beast’s castle and the ring would allow her to return to the castle instantly.

 

(5) How did a handsome prince become an ugly beast? 
Ans: A handsome prince became an ugly beast as a fairy gave him a curse  after he refused to let her in from the rain.
