Boat Capsize Tolls Ten

Jangipur, September 03: Ten persons
were drowned and twenty persons were found to be missing in a boat capsize in
the Bhagirathi river last night. According to reports, a country boat carrying
about thirty people of a marriage party left Sadar ferry ghat in Jangipur for
College ferry ghat was suddenly hit by a launch at about 7:40 pm and
overturned. All the passengers fell into the river. Till morning ten bodies
including four women and three children were rescued by the local people. But
twenty persons are still missing. The government has sent a special rescue team
on the spot also assured every kind of help for the victims.
