Ans:  The animals are scared of the jackal Tabaqui because the jackal is more apt to go mad than any other animal in the jungle.  A mad jackal runs through the forest biting everything  in his way. And the bitten animal also gets mad.
 
(c) What was the ‘law of the jungle’?
Ans: The ‘law of the jungle’ was that Sher Khan had no right to change his quarters without due warning.
 
(d) Why was Father Wolf angry on hearing the loud roar of the tiger?
Ans: Father Wolf was angry  on hearing the loud roar of the tiger because such a noisy roar was not helpful for hunting a buck.

Ans: The parents of the ‘man cub’ ran away to save their lives leaving the little boy behind as Sher Khan attacked his family.
 
(d) Why did Sher Khan come to the wolves?
Ans: Sher Khan came to the den of wolves because a man’s cub went that way and he was searching for him.

Ans: Akela was the leader of the wolves. He was gray in colour and was very strong and cunning.
