Exercise 6
Write a
dialogue within 100 words on the need to ban the use of animals like tigers and
lions as circus attractions:
Amit :
Hi, Prokash. Where are you coming from?
Prokash : I
am returning from a circus show. After a good many days I have the opportunity
of watching circus.
Amit :
Hope you have fully enjoyed.
Prokash :
Oh, yes. But I really feel sorry for the wild animals. Animals like tigers and
lions should/must be banned in circus shows.
Amit :
They are really ill-treated there. Moreover, their numbers are decreasing day
by day.
Prokash :
As a result, the balance of nature is lost. Strict laws should be imposed
against the circus party. Uses of the wild animals are (it is) a criminal
offence.
Amit :
We should be humane to them. People must raise voice against this practice.
Prokash :
Here, I agree with you. Ok bye. I am actually in a hurry.
Amit :
Ok, bye. See you soon.
Write a dialogue within 100 words on the need to ban the
use of animals like tigers and lions as circus attractions:
Amit :
Are you going to enjoy the circus show in the Vivek Park?
Prokash :
No, I don’t go.
Amit :
Why? Don’t you like circus show?
Prokash :
Actually, there are no wild animals in the circus to entertain us .
Amit :
The use of wild animals in the circus is now illegal. Moreover, their numbers
are decreasing day by day.
Prokash :
As a result, of late, the circus has lost its attraction to us to a great
extent .
Amit : I
agree with you in this regard. But the decision of banning is no doubt
praise-worthy.
Prokash :
Yes, animals are not suited for circus life. Anyone can view the miserable
truth behind the circus. They are forced to live lives filled with stress,
fear, physical discomfort and pain there.
Amit : In
the 1990s, the Indian Supreme Court banned wild animals such as lions, bears,
monkeys and panthers from circuses, citing widespread neglect.
Prokash :
Unfortunately, circuses continue to exploit lesser-known animals and birds like
hippos, horses, dogs, mynahs, parrots, etc.
Amit :
Exploitation of any animal for human entertainment is unacceptable. We should
be humane to them. People must raise voice against this practice.
Prokash :
Here, I agree with you. Ok bye. I am actually in a hurry.
Amit :
Ok, bye. See you soon.

An Unforgettable Excursion / An Exciting Excursion /
A Pleasant Journey Becomes Nightmares
Like every years, this year also our school arranged an
educational excursion. This time we went to Shantiniketan, Birbhum. Our
History teacher accompanied us as our escort. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour
and started our return journey by bus after evening. When we are about to reach
Suri, suddenly we felt a jerk and the bus stopped. Everyone in our party
was surprised. We got down from the bus. Enquiry revealed that one of the front
tyres of our bus had punctured. We had to wait in a lonely place. It was
mid-night then. A pack of jackals were howling. We were afraid. It took two
hours to fix the tyre. Then we resumed our journey. When we came back home
night passed on to dawn. We all breathed a sigh of relief.
